About
Caraway Legal Nurse Consulting works with personal injury and medical malpractice attorneys on cases where the medical records do not clearly tell the story they need to.
Most cases do not lack documentation. The issue is that the timeline does not clearly show progression, connect care to outcome, or support causation and damages in a meaningful way.
When that happens, the case becomes harder to evaluate, harder to position, and harder to move forward.
That is where we step in.
We analyze and structure medical records into focused, usable work product. Whether through detailed chronologies, fact summaries, or targeted case analysis, the goal is always the same: clarify what happened and highlight where the case strengthens or breaks down.
Every case begins with strategy, not a template. The work is built around what the case actually needs, not a standard format.
In addition to record analysis, we support attorneys with expert identification and vetting, as well as case preparation leading into litigation.
The end result is simple. A clear, defensible medical story that supports the case instead of slowing it down.

OUR SERVICES
Merit Reviews
Not every case holds up once the medical records are fully evaluated.
Early review helps identify how well the medical evidence supports the theory of the case and where it may break down.
This includes:
- how the timeline aligns with the alleged injury
- potential deviations in care
- where causation is supported or weakened
- gaps, inconsistencies, and missing records
The goal is to provide a clear, medically grounded view of the strengths and vulnerabilities within the case so informed decisions can be made early.
Case Analysis and Fact Summaries
When the details of a case need to be clearly understood and strategically outlined, a fact summary is often the starting point.
This is not a generic summary. Each case is broken down in a narrative format that:
- aligns medical events with each claim
- addresses causation and contributing factors
- highlights gaps, inconsistencies, and key turning points
- supports early case evaluation and direction
This is commonly used in smaller or early-stage cases, but the same level of analysis applies regardless of case size.
Medical Chronologies
A timeline alone does not strengthen a case.
Most chronologies simply organize records. They do not make the case clearer.
Our chronologies are built to:
- show progression over time
- identify where care deviates or breaks down
- isolate what matters and remove what does not
- support causation and damages in a usable format
No filler. No unnecessary detail. Only what impacts the case.
These can also be adapted for expert review by removing embedded analysis and providing a clean, structured timeline.
Expert Witness Location and Vetting
The right expert is not just qualified. They are aligned with the case.
We identify and vet experts based on:
- clinical relevance to the specific issues
- ability to support the theory of the case
- credibility and prior testimony when applicable
This ensures the expert strengthens the case instead of creating risk.
Trial Preparation Support
As cases move toward litigation, the medical details become more critical and more time-consuming.
We work alongside attorneys and their teams to:
- prepare for depositions
- identify which providers should be deposed
- develop targeted medical questioning
- organize records and timelines for efficient use
- support overall case strategy from a medical standpoint
This allows the legal team to stay focused while the medical side is fully managed.
Trial Exhibits
Medical information is only useful if it can be clearly presented.
We develop trial exhibits that:
- simplify complex medical details
- visually support timeline and progression
- reinforce key points related to causation and damages
Clear. Focused. Built to support the case.
